CRGP provided architectural design services for Westpoint Homes’ Beechwood Lea residential development in Thorntonhall. The project sits on the western edge of the village within a rural landscape, and the architectural approach focused on creating a contemporary residential environment that responds sensitively to its surroundings.
The development includes 28-two-and-three-bedroom apartments arranged across two four-storey buildings. CRGP’s design emphasises proportion, material quality and spatial clarity, incorporating enhanced ceiling heights and well‑considered private outdoor spaces to maximise natural light and views of the surrounding countryside.
Thorntonhall, located just south of Glasgow, is characterised by its historic village setting and its connection to the wider rural environment. CRGP’s architectural response was informed by this context, balancing the village’s established character with the requirements of modern living. Although the location is peaceful and predominantly residential, it remains well connected through regular rail links to Glasgow Central and nearby motorway routes to both Glasgow and Prestwick airports. These contextual factors helped shape the design approach, ensuring the development complements its setting while providing high‑quality contemporary homes.
